On 13 September 2026, a significant milestone in the journey of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network (PWPN) and the Eucharistic Youth Movement (EYM) in India took place at the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) Centre in New Delhi. Fr. Dr. Mathew Koyickal, Deputy General Secretary and Director of the CBCI Centre, received copies of the General Regulations of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network and the Directory of PWPN & EYM in India from Fr. Xavier Tharamel, SJ, National Director and South Asia Coordinator of PWPN and EYM.
The event took place in the esteemed presence of Fr. Biju Alapatt, Secretary of the CBCI Office for Media, Fr. George Thomas Nirappukalayil, Secretary of the CBCI Office for Labour; and Mr. Antony Glenn Gomez, Manager of Communications and Data Analytics at JRDS, and National Assistant and Animator of PWPN and EYM in India.
The occasion marks an important step towards strengthening the coordination, formation, and pastoral animation of PWPN and EYM across India. The General Regulations provide an important framework for the Network’s mission, while the Directory facilitates greater collaboration and communication among national, diocesan, and local teams.
